Get to know us!

Thanks for checking out our new blog! Let's get to know each other better! I am Pam, owner of Sudsy Ewe. I guess we should first, and foremost explain that company name! I hand make soap & spin wool yarn so when you combine the two you get the Sudsy Ewe!

On top of soap and yarn, we also have goat milk lotions, lip balms, scrubs, hand sewn and knit items, Paparazzi Accessories, knit & crochet notions, lamps, photo books, novelty signs and more! Our shop feature 4 local crafters who bring in quite a nice selection of unique hand crafted items.

In my upcoming blog posts, I am going to be talking more specifically about each of the products we make and sell in our shop and here online. Today, let's talk about our best seller: Bare Naked Goat Milk Soap

#barenakedsoap
Bare Naked Goat Milk Soap

Our Bare Naked Goat Milk Soap #barenakedsoap is formulated especially for people who negatively react to fragrances and/or color in products. It contains no fragrance or color. It is made with olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil (or lard-depending on what is readily available), goat milk and castor oil.

Here's why we use the oils we use when creating soap (with the percentage of oils used in the product):

*Olive oil makes a super moisturizing, but soft bar, with little bubbles. It's cleansing properties are low. (40%)

*Coconut oil is very cleansing, but not very conditioning. It makes a very hard bar. (20%)

*Palm oil also makes a hard bar with good moisturizing effects and longer shelf life. (15%) (used in place of lard when needed)

*Lard has properties similar to palm oil, but is a better moisturizer with a shorter shelf life. (15%) (used in place of palm oil when needed)

*Castor oil is not a good cleanser nor does it make a hard bar, but it is a good moisturizer that makes fantastic bubbles! Who knew?! (5%)

So, as you can see, combining these specific oils creates a wonderful, well rounded bar that is not only moisturizing (conditioning), but it is also hard (longer lasting) with nice bubbles! Now, on top of the great combo of oils we use, don't forget that we also use goat milk! Goat milk has tons of awesome qualities that makes us want to use it in all of our soaps like:

* rich in powerful antioxidants, such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C and Vitamin E

* it also includes fatty acids, amino acids, citric acid, and enzymes.

Since we don't add any color or fragrance to our #barenakedsoap it makes it a perfect soap for anyone who does not want a scented soap or does not want a soap that will interfere with their perfume. It is great for anyone with sensitive skin or with a skin condition like eczema or psoriasis ~ although we are NOT stating that our products will cure any skin condition.
